PERSONAL PROFILE
Who I Am
I love solving problems; from Rubik's cube to case studies, from linear regression to user stories, from kinematics to capital markets, all of them. The very reason I chose engineering as my field of study is because engineers are great problem-solvers. While they often specialize in varied aspects of the field, problem-solving remains the universal language. The most important aspect that engineering introduced me to was first principle thinking- approaching problems methodically, breaking them down into manageable components, and ingeniously piecing them back together to form solutions. This ability to analyze, synthesize, and innovate has been the driving force behind my fascination with engineering. I also have an innate curiosity to unearth answers to all sorts of questions - why is a blue ocean strategy important, why are humans bipedal, how does NLP work, why did we come up with CAPTCHA, how printing money controls inflation - the quintessential “how” and “why” of things in this world. Each new problem I come across presents me with an opportunity to satiate this curiosity of mine. This subsequently drives me to learn and explore uncharted territories, fueling an unending cycle of learning and exploration.
I believe learning follows the law of compounding; the early you learn and the more you learn, the returns you get are exponential in the long run. Hence, you will find “learning” as a hobby in my resume, a choice that often prompts questions from my friends. Here, by learning I mean the accumulation of insights irrespective of their direct relevance to my profession. I am confident that these varied insights will prove invaluable in sparking intriguing conversations and forging meaningful connections. Among the vast sea of subjects, three domains that hold a special place in my intellectual pursuits are business, technology, and finance. Admittedly, these fields are expansive, but my commitment to continuously accumulate knowledge within them has been resolute. As time has progressed, I've witnessed these domains seamlessly merge into my circle of competence, an integration I intend to perpetually expand.
My journey wouldn't be complete without mentioning the role of sports in shaping my character. Sports have imbibed in me a lot of intangibles that define who I am as a person. I certainly believe that there are not many professions out there that teach you as much as being around sports does. The ability to thrive under pressure, effective teamwork, resilience, adaptability, and discipline – these qualities have been cultivated on the pitch and have become integral to my approach to challenges in all aspects of life.
I am presently pursuing my Master's in Engineering Management from Northwestern University. As my journey unfolds, I look forward to continue adding value to organizations and helping them solve real-world business problems.
